America’s Cup 37 – Louis Vuitton Cup

The 37th America’s Cup international sailing competition concluded the last of three preliminary regattas in which the teams competed in their 75-foot foiling monohulls for the first time.  It was thrilling to watch with all teams fielding capable boats and teams.  Now, the challengers: American Magic (USA), Ineos Britannia (Great Britain), Orient Express (France), Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli (Italy), Alinghi Red Bull Racing (Switzerland) will race in a double round robin format (August 9-August 29), followed by a semi-final (August 14-19) and a final (September 26-October 10), to determine which team will face the defender, Emirates Team New Zealand (New Zealand) in the America’s Cup Final!

The Boat:   The AC75 represents three years of design, testing, and fabrication that adhere to the AC37 Rules, and these races put the boat and teams to the test in head-to-head racing!

How to See It!

The racing begins at 0700 Central Time.  We take our role as American Magic fans pretty seriously and we WATCH these races, LIVE and RECORDED.  We are planning the following WATCH PARTIES:

Sail Pensacola/Seville Watch Party: If you are in or close to Pensacola, you’ll want to join American Magic fans for their LIVE Watch Party  starting at 0700 in Seville Quarter, Downtown Pensacola! The Watch Parties occur on the days of racing which are:

August 29,30,31, and

September 1,3,4,7,8

Pensacola Beach Yacht Club Watch Party:  Now, if you miss the live-streamed event in Pensacola, and you are either Pensacola Beach Yacht Club member or have influence with one, go the PBYC Watch Party each day at 5 PM Central Time!  Same dates apply and they are:

August 29,30,31, and

September 1,3,4,7,8
